Do you have any "white", "golden", or "fox red" labs?
No, we have Yellow, Chocolate and Black Labrador Retrievers. The "WHITE", "FAWN", "GOLDEN", "FOX RED" or "RUST" colors are ALL shades of Yellow. It just all depends on the genetics of the parents on what you are going to get in any litter. Just because you breed a very light yellow Labrador (or what some people call "white") to a very light yellow Labrador DOESN'T mean you are going to get a litter of all very light yellow puppies! Yellow Labrador's colors can vary from a "fox-red" to a very "light yellow". All of these color variations are considered Yellow. Chocolate Labrador's can vary from a "milk chocolate" to a dark chocolate. Yellow, Chocolate, and Black are the only colors recognized for this breed.   NO, we do not advertize to be selling RUST Labradors- RUST is our LAST name! It just so happens we have a dog that is very dark yellow, and some call him rust or fox red. Thank you for understanding!
Do they need to be bathed regularly?
No, most Labradors stay clean on their own, unless the weather has made it so the ground is muddy or otherwise not nice, a quick hose down will work. Bathing the dog on a regular basis will deplete the oils Labradors need to keep their coats nice and shiny. Regular brushing will keep the dust and dander down, along with the shedding of hair. Labradors generally shed their coats twice a year, Spring and Fall. Regular brushing will help this process and keep the needed oils. It will also help the hair from getting all over the furniture, carpets and clothes.
As for puppies, there are puppy shampoos on the market you can get, but we have always used regular baby shampoo. It helps them keep the natural oils, and isn't harsh on the skin, and makes them smell so nice. It is also relatively cheaper.
Are Labradors good with children?
Yes, Labradors are well known for their great dispositions, even temperaments, and general happy-go-lucky attitudes. But, as with ANY PET or even HUMANS, everyone has a breaking point! No one can tolerate everything, not even a Labrador. Teasing or picking, mistreating the dog as kicking or hitting from a child or adult will no doubt get the dog upset. No matter what, treat the dog with love and care. Respect your pets and they will respect you! Labradors are big, strong dogs, and even when playing they can bump into a child causing the child to fall and get hurt. Teach your family to play nice with the puppy from the beginning, and to stay back if the dog is overly excited.
One very important thing to teach a child is to NOT run from the puppy if the pup is playing too hard. That will just get the puppy more excited and want to chase after the child. Have the child walk and go where the puppy can not. The puppy will understand that it isn't allowed to chase children.
