Lady was my best friend! She knew me better than I knew myself. Lady and I would watch the Spring and Summer storms roll in together. Smell the rain, watch it coming and jump at the thunder together. She was the best mouse, snake, pheasant, rabbit, squirrel, and raccoon catcher ever! (Among other things!) Lady was an excellent mother to 29 babies. She loved training them to be great hunters like herself! Her hunting drive was so strong she just wouldn't stop until she had her wild prey killed. Lady climbed 5 foot high fences, dug holes that were so deep, nothing could keep her locked in. She was a free spirit! Lady would find snakes in the yard and would follow them to their home and dig it up and kill them all! She loved the hunt. Lady and I got the mail together every day. She loved to lay on the floor by my side of the bed and sleep. She would lay by the fireplace to warm up and try to lay on me when she wanted to be as close as possible to me. I was the only one she wanted with her while she was giving birth to those beautiful babies. She gave me the honor of holding them all each first. She tended to them so greatly, cleaning, counting, and loving them all. Lady was so pretty and so "lady like". She was my baby, my sweetie pie, and my Lady Girl. |

Lady got an infection on March 19th and we treated it with antibiotics. Lady seemed healthy and fine and we bred her with Rowdy. She got another infection on March 27th, we were treating that one as well and she was getting better. On Friday April 4th we noticed she wasn't well and we took her to the vet then and gave her more antibiotics. By Saturday morning she couldn't walk straight and wasn't keeping anything down. Again we took her back to the vet, who gave her more medicine. By noon on Saturday we knew she wasn't going to make it, the infection had spred in to her liver before we could try to do anything else. I sat with Lady for 3 hours holding her and loving her until her final moments. All in all, the vet said we had done everything we could. We had no way of knowing the infection had gone so far in such a short amount of time. We all thought we had the infection under control, and that she would live to see many years of hunting and many more babies. I never imagined that my beloved Lady would leave me so fast, I miss her greatly along with our family and her son, Shot, who misses her very much! |

There will be more things added as I find them, it might take me a while since I have a hard time trying to go through what I all have, and when I do find something I just seem to think of My Lady Girl and what we all did together. Thank you all for being so kind to me, thank you all for your condolences. It really makes one happy to know that people care and that a lot of people loved Lady too! |
